Working from home… isn’t the dream of many office workers, who are struggling with the 9-5 routine?
Well, I did several jobs during my life, included gas station attendant and workman at my teenage, to then becoming an employee in the banking field for 6 years and then an export manager for 8 years.
I definitely know many of my ex colleagues who are dreaming to start some sort of a work from home type of business and quitting their everyday job.
And there’s no denying – you can make money online! Included, with blogging.
Many people have done it. Several bloggers are making a living that would hardly be possible outside the internet marketing world.
I’ve heard several different opinions about earning money with internet without having to leave your house.
I know it’s surely not easy, but I think that many still believe that becoming an internet marketer and making a living online is a simple task to accomplish overnight.
With more than five years of experience with all kinds of online activities, let me tell you something – nor internet marketing, neither blogging is a piece of cake. There are several problems that can make your online journey a hell, from burnout to lack of organization, and in this post we will talk about them.
You Need To Be Ready To Become Your Own Boss
Yep, the main benefit of working from home – the fact that there’s no one giving you orders and telling you what to do, is also one of the biggest obstacles that every marketer will face once they enter the blogging world.
There is one main reason why bloggers quit: they don’t get the monetary compensation they think they deserve.
The harsh truth is that after the initial period of huge enthusiasm, giving away information for free, building content, promoting the posts and playing on social media, you soon realize that you need money to pay the bills.
But why didn’t blogger achieve the success?
In other words, why they don’t make enough money online to live with?
The answer is lack of planning, lack of prioritization and lack of knowledge. Simply starring at the unknown without a clue where to start is demoralizing. On the other hand if you had a boss, your daily routine would come down to simply doing what you are told to.
Plan Your Time And Avoid Distractions
The TV, the radio, the content of your refrigerator, your cat and even the same internet that you use for your work from home can distract you (think about social media). Actually, there are many more things that can get you carried away.
Dealing with all of this is not an easy challenge. Distractions can be a big problem when it comes to creating fresh content frequently and writing on daily basis. Spending hours on it doesn’t seem like much, but often times once you start, everything around you becomes ten times more interesting than it was a minute ago.
The brain isn’t always cooperating. Even though you might know exactly what you have to do how to get on with your tasks, you still can’t resist stepping off of your computer for no obvious reason.
And you need to be organized, planning your time and work on priorities. Do first what it makes you money!
Making Money Is Not Easy at All
Making money blogging, how simpler can it be?
The thing is it all looks deceivingly easy in theory. When put to practice however neither one of the monetization techniques is easy. And even if you apply step-by-step everything that you’ve read, there are still no guarantees that you will make something out of your blogging presence.
What 99% of the bloggers don’t realize is that making money from their blogs right after they start is close to impossible. That is the reason why a good lot of them simply abandon their activities – they see that their hard effort is not paying off, but they don’t realize that blogging and internet marketing are long-term time and money investments.
But wait, making money online is much more than blogging.
Aside that, internet is full of opportunities.
You can sell your skills online, for example, getting paid for promoting stuff on social media or for your writing skills.
Don’t Quit, Be Persistent!
If you take for example making money with blogging, you start with finding the most simple of elements that you need in order to complete the monetization puzzle.
And what is the most basic element? Traffic.
If you lack the traffic, spending time and money reviewing and buying products is plain worthless.
In order to make progress, you should focus on one component until you make it work and then move on to the next. For you as a starter this means that the first thing you should care about is building an audience.
And the problem is that monetization and building an audience don’t always go together. People don’t like being sold.
Aside content, then second most important thing you need to do online is building relationships.
You will discover that you can get some awesome work opportunities from your contacts!
Ensure You Have The Best Tools
Working from home relies heavily on the internet. Naturally, this means you need a fast internet connection. You should also have encryption tools like a VPN router for your home WiFi to ensure online security. Your livelihood is at stake after all!
Different industries also have different basic needs. For example, freelance graphic designers would need drawing apps while a blogger would need a good web host.
Having the best tools ensure you are be your most productive self possible.
Blogging and making money from home is certainly a dream for lots of folks out there. And although actually making the dream come true is definitely not an easy task, it is doable.
You can make money blogging as long as you don’t start monetizing right away and as long as you have the patience and will to keep writing and publishing quality, practical and easy to understand content.
Now up to you.
